Summary

Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Madrid to Trujillo & Lisbon

    Madrid - Trujillo (Spain) - Lisbon (Portugal). We depart from the bus terminal at 7:45/8:00, heading toward the Extremadura region and arriving in Trujillo, the birthplace of several Spanish conquistadors. Enjoy free time to explore the impressive Plaza Mayor and soak up the town’s historic charm.

    We then cross the Portuguese border and continue to Lisbon, the capital city located at the mouth of the Tagus River. In the evening, there's an optional night tour to enjoy a traditional Fado show with Portuguese music and song.

    Please note: This tour is bi-lingual and will be conducted in Spanish as well as in English.

  • Day 2

    Lisbon City Tour

    This morning, we embark on a city sightseeing tour including the historic Alfama Quarter with its winding streets and traditional houses, the iconic Tower of Belém overlooking the Tagus River, and the impressive Jerónimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Manueline architecture. We'll also take in panoramic views from Edward VII Park’s hilltop viewpoint, stroll through Rossio Square and Liberdade Avenue, and pass through the traditional Madragoa District, the birthplace of Fado music.

    The afternoon is free for you to explore Lisbon at your own pace. You may also choose to join an optional excursion to Sintra, Estoril, or Cascais.

  • Day 3

    Exploring Fatima

    Lisbon - Fátima - Lisbon. This morning, after breakfast, we depart for Fátima, one of the most important Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world, known for the reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1917. Here, you can enjoy free time to visit the Sanctuary, including the Chapel of the Apparitions and the Basilica, before we return to Lisbon for the evening.

  • Day 4

    Lisbon to Caceres & Seville

    Lisbon (Portugal) - Caceres (Spain) - Seville. We begin our day with breakfast before departing for the Spanish border and continuing to Caceres. You’ll have free time to explore its Plaza Mayor and stroll through the old city, known for its remarkably preserved medieval quarter, a recognised World Heritage site.

    You can also enjoy lunch at one of the many spots in Caceres. We then continue south to Andalucía, arriving in Seville, where dinner is included.

  • Day 5

    Seville City Tour

    Today, we begin with a city tour of Seville, visiting María Luisa Park, Plaza de España, the exterior of the magnificent Cathedral and its Giralda Tower, and the charming Barrio de Santa Cruz, once the Jewish quarter.

    You’ll have the option to take a cruise on the Guadalquivir River for panoramic views of the Gold Tower and Expo 92, or explore the Maestranza bullring. In the evening, you may choose to attend a flamenco show.

  • Day 6

    Cordoba Exploration

    Seville - Cordoba. Enjoy breakfast this morning before we depart for Córdoba. Once we have arrived, we'll begin our walking tour at the Almodóvar Gate, a historic Moorish gateway leading into the old town, before exploring the narrow, whitewashed streets of the Jewish Quarter, including the 14th-century Synagogue. We’ll then visit the renowned Mosque-Cathedral, a masterpiece of Islamic architecture with its striking horseshoe arches and later Christian additions.

    The afternoon is free for leisure activities. Later, we will make our way to our accommodation, where we will enjoy dinner.

  • Day 7

    White Villages, Ronda & Costa del Sol

    After breakfast, we depart for the Route of the White Villages and Ronda. Admire the striking hilltop villages with whitewashed houses, set against rugged landscapes, and enjoy some free time to explore Ronda, famous for its dramatic El Tajo gorge and the historic Puente Nuevo bridge. We then continue on to Costa del Sol, where we will make our way to our accommodation and have dinner.

  • Day 8

    Exploring Granada & the Alhambra

    Costa del Sol – Granada. Today, we depart for Granada. Here, we will explore the stunning Alhambra and Generalife, the former residence of the Moorish kings, renowned for its magnificent fountains, gardens, and arches.

    This evening, there is an optional visit to the Sacromonte caves to experience a traditional gipsy flamenco show.

    Please note: If tickets to the Alhambra and Generalife are unavailable on specific dates, as determined by the Patronato, an alternative city tour of Granada will be offered. This will include visits to the Palace of Carlos V, the Archaeological Museum, the Church of Santa María de la Alhambra, the Royal Chapel, as well as a walk through the Alcaicería silk market and Cathedral Square.

  • Day 9

    Granada to Valencia

    Granada - Valencia. Start the day with breakfast before we journey through the varied landscapes of Andalusia and Murcia, passing the cave dwellings of Guadix, the historic town of Baza, and the mountain pass of Puerto Lumbreras.

    We then follow the Mediterranean coastline towards Valencia. After we've checked into the hotel, the rest of the day is free for you to explore this coastal city.

  • Day 10

    Valencia to Barcelona

    Valencia - Barcelona. After breakfast, you’ll have free time this morning to explore Valencia. Stroll through the old town, admire the exterior of the Valencia Cathedral, or simply enjoy a coffee and sample local specialities like paella.

    Around mid-morning, we will depart for our next destination, Barcelona, known for its striking architecture, vibrant culture, and Mediterranean charm. Once we have arrived you will have the rest of the day at leisure.

    Please note: Due to logistical reasons, the Barcelona City tour may take place upon arrival in Barcelona on day 2.

  • Day 11

    Barcelona City Tour

    This morning, we’ll join a guided city sightseeing tour, starting with Montjuic Park, where we'll take in sweeping views of the city below. We’ll continue to the Olympic Ring, home to several of the city’s most important sports venues from the 1992 Olympics, and then visit the Columbus Monument at the lower end of La Rambla, commemorating the explorer’s journey to the Americas.

    We’ll then wander through the atmospheric Gothic Quarter, with its winding medieval streets, historic buildings, and hidden squares. The afternoon is yours to discover Barcelona’s vibrant streets and hidden corners at your own pace.

  • Day 12

    Barcelona to Zaragoza & San Sebastian

    Barcelona - Zaragoza - San Sebastian. Today, we will depart from Barcelona, heading to Zaragoza. Once we have arrived in Zaragoza, you will have some free time to explore the city, enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants, or relax before we continue our journey towards San Sebastian.

  • Day 13

    San Sebastian to Bilbao & Santander

    San Sebastian - Bilbao - Santander. This morning, we will depart from San Sebastian and head to Bilbao, the capital of the province of Vizcaya. We’ll make a brief stop to admire the striking Guggenheim Museum, designed by Frank Gehry, with its distinctive titanium-clad, curvilinear structure, a symbol of Bilbao’s cultural revival.

    After, we will continue our journey to Santander, where you will have some free time before we head to our accommodation for check-in and enjoy dinner.

  • Day 14

    Santander to Santillana del Mar, Covadonga & Oviedo

    Santander - Santillana del Mar - Covadonga - Oviedo. After breakfast, depart for Santillana del Mar, a medieval village recognised as a National Monument, with cobbled streets and ancient stone houses.

    We then continue through scenic landscapes to Covadonga, where the Sanctuary nestles in the mountains, offering a serene spot to reflect or admire the surroundings. After, we will continue to Oviedo for check-in and dinner.

  • Day 15

    Exploring La Coruna

    Oviedo - La Coruna. Today, we’ll depart from Oviedo towards the Galicia region, travelling through lush green landscapes and enjoying coastal views before arriving in La Coruña. On arrival, we’ll embark on a brief panoramic tour of the city.

    In the afternoon, you have the option to take an excursion to the Rías Altas, visiting charming villages like Pontedeume and Betanzos along the way. Later, at the hotel, we will enjoy dinner.

  • Day 16

    Santiago de Compostela City Tour

    La Coruna - Santiago de Compostela. This morning, we will depart for Santiago de Compostela. On arrival, we’ll embark on a tour of this famed pilgrimage site, taking in the historic Plaza del Obradoiro and the magnificent Cathedral of Santiago, known for its Romanesque architecture and the tomb of St. James.

    You will then have the afternoon at leisure to further explore the city, enjoy some food at a restaurant, or relax. Later, we will enjoy dinner.

  • Day 17

    From Santiago to Porto

    Santiago de Compostela - Rias Bajas - Vigo (Spain) - Porto (Portugal). Today, we depart for the Spanish Fjords region (Rias Bajas), traveling through stunning landscapes and making a brief stop at La Toja Island.

    In O Grove, there's an opportunity for an optional catamaran tour to view oyster and mussel farms, complete with tasting sessions for mussels and Ribeiro wine.

    We then proceed to Vigo, where you'll have some free time. An optional excursion to Santa Tecla is available.

    Following this, we cross the Minho River, which marks the border between Spain and Portugal, enjoying the scenic views of Minho until we reach Porto, where we will make our way to our accommodation.

  • Day 18

    Porto City Tour & Wine Tasting

    After breakfast, we will venture out to explore Porto, recognised as a World Heritage city. We will enjoy a panoramic tour that includes visits to the cathedral with its striking Romanesque facade, the elegant neoclassical Stock Exchange building, and St. Clara Church, known for its beautiful, gilded interior.

    The tour will conclude at a local wine cellar, where we can savor a tasting of the renowned Port wine. You'll then have free time to further explore the city, grab a meal or you can opt for a cruise along the Duero River.

  • Day 19

    Porto to Salamanca & Madrid

    After our final breakfast, we will depart Porto heading towards the Spanish border, making our way to Salamanca. You will then have free time to wander through this monumental city and its famous Plaza Mayor, where you can admire the intricate architecture, sip coffee at a traditional café, or browse the shops and market stalls. After we will continue our journey to Madrid, once we have arrived, this will mark the end of our tour.

    You will dropped on Ferraz Street, near the Plaza de Espana at approximately 17:30, though this time is subject to external factors such as traffic and passenger delays.
